How are research points generated?

Research points are generated daily by research centres. They can also be obtained via special activities like raids or season rewards.

The Shipyard which is what a level 100 or above Shipwright is classed as, and the Stronghold with is what a level 100 or above fortress is classed as, consumes one research point daily.

Lastly, some regions and occasionally boosts increase the amount of research points generated.
