How do I spot cargo?

To spot cargo, first open the cargo window and then select adrift cargo. Cargo will be listed grouped by cargo type. For each cargo row a contextual menu will be available, within this menu is the option to "spot".

Spotting cargo relies this information in the chat comms channel, letting others know that cargo has been spotted adrift at your location.
