I need to leave the game for a bit. I have a scout out exploring. Is there anything I need to do to guarantee its safety?

There is always a risk of running into Outlanders or phenomenon while exploring for new systems. It's unlikely, but still a risk. The safest place to be if you are going to be away for while is docked inside of a faction structure or a hideout.
