Morticaye is a human male, born and raised on Dorado. He is of medium height and build His hair is a tidy Afro and is jet black. He has an eye for details, an almost preternatural sense of observation and recall.

His upbringing was one of instinctual exploration and adventure; like a moth to a flame he has been drawn to the unexplored corners of the universe and is always keen to push the boundaries of knowledge. He seeks knowledge, not out of a sense of egotistical gain but out of a genuine and sincere curiosity as to how things connect and interact.

More often than not, this curiosity leads him into conflict. He is loyal to his friends, but not always their causes. He is fully expecting the universe to knock him back down at times, but he is seldom afraid of it. He is determined, sometimes naive, and is willing to risk his own safety for those he would consider friends. He is an open champion of the small and powerless, and a shrewd mercenary of the powerful and wealthy.

Though Morticaye is loyal to his friends, he questions authority and will not blindly follow orders. He has a healthy skepticism for new and often untested technologies. He is not a fan of regulations and rules, unless it is his own. He prefers to rely on his own capabilities and intuitive leaps, often to the bemusement and sometimes chagrin of others.

Morticaye can be found wandering the furthest reaches of space supported by a strong moral code, and the intellectual tug of distant secrets and stories. He is always looking for the truth at the heart of every story he hears and experience every planet he visits. He is known to be an excellent pilot, a fierce soldier, and a loyal companion.
